I have a medical condition and have to weigh my food accurately. I have tried all the high street brands of kitchen scales - Salter, Hanson, EKS, and so on - but none of them give a stable reading. They settle at a reading, but after a couple of seconds they begin to creep up or down a gram at a time. It's infuriating.

The i5500 scale is fantastic. It stops at a weight and it stays there! Even if I walk away for a couple of minutes and then come back, the reading stays the same.

There are some nice convenient features, such as the option to turn off the auto-shut-off (how maddening is it when the damn scale turns itself off before you're done), a choice of units (grams, pounds, ounces), and a removable weighing platform for easy cleaning. I was particularly pleased to receive the (free) mains adaptor; you can plug the scales into the mains (or using regular batteries if you prefer) - so no more deterioration as the batteries run down, or hunting around for new batteries.

Yes, it's expensive to buy as a kitchen scale, but if you need accuracy and use it a lot, it's well worth the money.

A great investment - wish I'd bought it years ago!
